IFG-2300 handgun is an informational field handgun designed and developed by IF Technologies Corporation in 2300 A.D. Powered by compact Dynamic Truth Drive it is capable to switch small volumes of matter in space. Unlike conventional Truth Drive, Dynamic Truth Drive can also change dynamic properties of switched matter, such as its relative speed and temperature.
Originally IFG-2300 was developed as tranquillizer gun for scientists involved in wildlife field researches. Because of high reliability and easy of use very soon it became popular PDW (personal defense weapon) among scientists working in hostile environments of distant planets.
IFG-2300 is made of light and highly durable materials. It has highly intelligent electronics, including range sensor and fingerprints scanner so as not to fall in wrong hands or claws. Has silent operation, zero recoil, high accuracy and precise impact energy.
After extensive field stress testing performed in Marine Corps, IFG-2300 was allowed for use in Marine Corps operations since 2307 A.D.

IFG-2300 Technical Specification:

Model Description:

This model is still under construction but I hope to finish it in a week(weeks?).
Geometry and UV mapping are finished (see third thumbnail of my quick and dirty test textures).
I planned to use pictures of real guns for texturing but they don't look futuristic. Making textures is something I never did before but it's never too late to learn...
Main poseable parts will be:
  • Ammo reel and its release button
  • Trigger (and hammer?)
  • Safety button (I plan to imitate red led light around it when in Fire position and green led light when in Safe position. I'm still to learn how to do it though)
  • Different MAT poses for LCD on its left side.
  • Tranquillizer cartridges will be put into ammo clip chambers and another one hidden in the barrel.
  • "Soft button" on the inner front of the trigger frame.
  • MAT poses for grip fingerprints scanner.
  • You will be able to hide-show LCD, maintenance cover, label plate, 'soft button' and battery tube.
  • Will available for download soon. Please check back.

    Known issues:
    Nothing so far.
    Poser 7 tips.

Sometimes when a model is imported into Poser 7 some facets looks out of order in "Smooth Lined" Document display style. I know two causes for such visual inconsistency.
    1. The model has two facets that are placed over each other and surface contains a fold. To fix it go to 3D editor and remove overlapping facets.
    2. UV mapping is not set or incorrect for those facets. To quick check if that this is the case, go to group editor in Poser, create new group for entire object and click "Create Perspective UV's". That should "even" UV coordinates and model should look ok.
